Testimonials

My family was tired of “life” as we knew it in the public school system! We felt God tugging on our hearts for several years until finally we made the move. It was a family decision and one of the major concerns was that the children were comfortable and would ultimately thrive as a result of our decision. We all know that even if you aren’t happy you can stay there because it is familiar and familiarity is easier than change. We listened to God and followed, finding ourselves in the center of a loving community.

My children felt right at home the minute they started school at HHCA! I don’t think it was by happenstance, but rather the planning and preparation by the school. I believe the many times Molly and Tate were on campus prior to starting school had everything to do with their comfort. We had meetings, interviews, testing, prayer and adventures with other students , such as bowling and swimming prior to the first day of school. I noticed that the teachers, administration and students worked together to make this happen! While all the planning in the world can’t accomplish students feeling confident in themselves, I believe true love, respect and concern for every student who walks through the door will make a dramatic difference, and we all know where that comes from. The love of our heavenly father manifested in the Headmaster, Principals, Administrators , Faculty and Staff who love Christ first and foremost and it is obvious as it permeates every conversation and decision within the school.

The “trickle-down effect “of His love was evident in my children at the end of their first day when I picked them up and they both reported it was the best day of their lives! They enjoyed their teachers tremendously, found it easy to make friends, and had a blessed day. I overheard Molly telling a friend of mine who called, that the teachers care about you & they ask you questions about “YOU” and how “YOU” are. Tate said the teachers "all love God like we do, Mom and it shows, we aren’t weird anymore, Mom!" Every day in carpool, we laugh about something else that they observed spiritually enlightening and or respectful that day in school and how we are all growing in our faith daily. Making the switch to HHCA has already proven to be THE BEST decision we have ever made as a family!

My husband Darrell and I decided to enroll our son JaBrook at HHCA after his encounter with students from HHCA this past summer. Ethan Gort, Taylor MacDonald, and Chris Ferraro all played on the LCSD AAU travel basketball team and gave JaBrook a good example of HHCA by the way each of them spoke of the school. Although JaBrook was very involved at his old school and consistently on the honor role, he felt that he was not learning.

Everyone from the staff, the coaches, the parents, and the students have helped him feel better about himself, his athletic skills, and his spiritual goals for life. Our family would like to thank God for each and everyone who is a part of our new HHCA family!

I wanted to send you a note to compliment you and your staff on a job well done. Yesterday afternoon our two B-Team football players met for the last game of the season at Danny Jones Field in Charleston. Your players were well trained and played the game well. What so impressed me was what happened on the field when one of our young men was injured and required a check before coming off the field. I watched as both teams took a knee and waited for our student to get up. As he laid there, I heard one of your young men ask his fellow players, "What's his number?" When he was given the number, he quickly and instructed them, "Ok, let's pray." He lead his team in prayer and when he was finished, they all said, "Amen!" There was no coach on the field initiating your students to make that happen. That came from the leadership of your team on and off the field. I am a parent from Northwood but I was so proud of your students. It was so great to see that your students know how to pray and it was clear to anyone there that this is the norm for that team. WOW! What an awesome representation of Hilton Head Christian. Thank you for what you are doing at your academy. You are making a difference. Please give my best regards to your football coaches and their staff. Great job - both on and off the field.

God bless,
Judy Lutes

"On March 1-3, I had the pleasure of hosting a group of students, teachers and parents from Hilton Head Christian Academy. I’ve hosted several thousand student groups on their annual class trip to Washington D.C. during my years as a tour guide and operator. I must tell you that the students from HHCA truly stand out . . . It was a pleasure to work with Shannon Smith and Michele McShane and the other sponsors. . . . The entire community can be very proud of this group."

"My husband Wayne and I chose to enroll our two children, Ryan and Nancy, at HHCA when we moved here in 1991 after Wayne retired from the NFL. The Christian Academy has supported our family priority of keeping Christ as the center of our home. Our children have been surrounded by dedicated faculty and coaches that have helped them achieve their academic, athletic and spiritual goals. Ryan is now attending Duke University and playing football and Nancy, who is in her senior year, is pursuing her dream of swimming on a collegiate level. We owe all this to HHCA's commitment to be the best Christian school in developing their students for life."

"HHCA has been part of our lives for over 25 years, and we've had the privilege of seeing the original vision of the school not only become a reality, but truly exceed expectations. HHCA has built a reputation for excellence in so many areas - academics, athletics, fine arts, a caring faculty, a beautiful campus, technological advances, community service - while always striving to accomplish its mission of making disciples of Jesus Christ. Hilton Head Christian Academy is an extension of our home as we continue to build lifelong friendships, share precious memories, and most importantly, partner with the school to encourage our children as they grow in their faith and understand their world from a biblical perspective.

We are so grateful that our family is part of the HHCA family!"
