"All children can learn and succeed but not on the same day in the same way." The Academic Resource Center offers services to students in grades K-8 at the Academy. Resource Director, Anne Poole, began the Center in 2004 with the goal of providing multi-sensory instructional intervention to enhance a student's learning experience and ensure academic grade-level success.
The Center offers the following:
Therapy sessions of 30-50 minutes provide direct individual therapy and also include weekly planning, preparation of progress reports and classroom mediation. Tutoring services seek to improve subject area weaknesses with short-term concentration on noted skill/concept deficits. Classroom support services provide brief instructional support for students experiencing a learning lag in a subject-based area. For more detail regarding the above services click the link below.
Meet Our Therapists Anne Poole and Jennifer Hubbard. "As a therapist, every session is about creating change in a student's learning, and it is an intensely frustrating experience most would rather avoid. I am amazed and greatly admire the students that have the courage to face these sessions time after time. They teach me about change and resilience. They teach me about facing new ways of doing things, even when frustration is at its peak. They inspire me." |
