| HHCA Upper School Drama Department will be presenting All Shook Up on March 8, 9, and 10 at the VPAC at Hilton Head Island High School. The show mixes a little bit of Shakespeare with a whole lot of The King. It guarantees that the audience will be jumpin' out of their blue suede shoes as it tells a sweet and comical story of what happens when "a roustabout with a song in his soul and an eye for the ladies" rambles into town on his motorcycle, aguitar slung over the leather jacket on his back. The show features 24 classic Elvis Presley hits, including "Heartbreak Hotel," "Burning Love," "Jailhouse Rock," "It's Now or Never," "Can't Help Falling in Love," and "Don't Be Cruel." Showtime each evening is 7:00 pm. Tickets are on sale at the front desk ($8 for students and $12 for adults) or may be purchased at the theater. |
| Congratulations to the HHCA choral ensembles and soloists for their outstanding performance at the SCMEA Solo and Ensemble Festival held at the College of Charleston last Saturday, February 18th! For our ensembles, our 5th grade chorus and 7th/8th grade chorus came away with "superior" ratings, while our 6th grade chorus and upper school chorus were both awarded "excellent" ratings. Our three soloists, Jane Whaley Rogers, Mary Meghan Burke, and Rachel Wade were also given an "excellent" rating for their performance of art songs by Schubert and Debussy. Hats off to all! |

We Want You Back for 2012 - 2013! Re-enrollment is the process for current parents to reserve seats for their children for the upcoming (2012-2013) school year. Each year we ask families to re-enroll their children during the month of February in order to best facilitate our planning (staffing, programs, budget, etc.) for the year ahead. Parents do this by filling out a re-enrollment form and returning it to Mrs. Brenda McPherson in the Admissions office, along with a fee of $150 per child. Once your re-enrollment information is received in the office, the seats are reserved for your children in the appropriate classes (in other words re-enrolled students have first dibs on the seats!). The deadline to re-enroll is Friday, February 24. Exciting plans are in place for the 2012-2013 school year - we hope to continue to partner with you in the year ahead! Click here to access the re-enrollment information.
February is also the time of year that families apply for tuition assistance for the upcoming year. Families seeking assistance must submit an updated application each year. You can apply by going to the following website: https://online.factsmgt.com/Grant/App/Apply.aspx?tk=3JTPN

Outer Wear - Parents, please send your child to school with a jacket, coat, or sweatshirt on cool days. LS students do go outside for recess, even when the weather is cold. MS/US students go outside for change of classes. Please do not take items from lost and found if they do not belong to you. Parents, please check HHCA apparel at home to be sure it belongs to your child - several families are missing clothing items that have their names in them.

The Bolt - At HHCA, we make it a priority to empower minds, engage hearts and equip hands. Our academic standards, biblical foundations and servant leadership programs are designed to create a student body prepared to make a lasting impact in their world. We desire to create a community of stand-out students set to reflect Christ and make a difference in the lives of others. It is with this vision in mind that we have begun a new initiative in lower school. Each month, we will address a “bolt basic”, or life skill, designed to enable students to interact with the world around them. Our goal is to provide students with the skills needed to introduce themselves, carry respectful conversation and communicate respect in every day interactions with fellow students, teachers and the community at large. In essence, we desire to create students who burn brightly with the light of Christ in small but meaningful ways.
