Welcome to the guidance page. For younger students the guidance role is one of Various activities are planned to move the students towards this end including career week, the college bus tour, college workshops, test preparation strategies, parent information sessions, and individual counseling. The focus on college choice is important as it lays the foundation to mold and shape the students’ character, spirituality, and perspective on the world. The guidance office is only one influence involved in the college placement process. The parents, church, teachers and family members all affect the choices our students make and we know that many hours are spent at home discussing this important decision as well as numerous hours spent travelling to various college campuses! Parents of juniors and seniors, please help the students stay on top of resume writing, applications, and watch for scholarship deadlines. Please know that we are here to support you in any way we can during this exciting process. We pray that God reveals His will to each and every one of you as we continue on this adventure together. assisting with academic direction, test taking strategies, and general encouragement. As the students enter their high school years this support continues and develops into more of a college focus with emphasis on building a solid GPA, encouraging enrollment in honors and AP classes, obtaining good test scores, and producing well rounded students. HHCA uses the PLAN test as well as the PSAT to help prepare our students for the ACT as well as the SAT. HHCA became an official SAT test center for the 2011-2012 school year.
