Middle School

Grades 5 - 8

The middle school faculty work together to provide a strong academic foundation in preparation for upper school while consistently applying age appropriate practices for students in grades five through eight. Teachers provide independent work opportunities while maintaining the high level of accountability required by this age group. Classroom teachers are actively engaged in small group and individual instruction. Critical thinking skills and creativity are developed extensively across all discipline areas.

Students are exposed to a variety of courses with math levels ranging from Math 1 to Algebra I in the middle school. Students are able to take Spanish 1, and every student is required to take a grammar/writing course in addition to the regular English program. Technology, PE, speech, choral music, band, Spanish, art, chess, logic, computers and drama are all available through our enrichment program.

Parents of middle school students at HHCA are appreciative of the strong Christian influence of the middle school teachers. Every student has the opportunity to be involved in a discipleship relationship with an adult. Students value their teachers who care for them in a loving way while helping them to discover their potential during these formative years.
