2023-2024 College Prep Series

Our Guidance Team's College Prep Series offers several opportunities for Upper School Students to get college-ready as they navigate the college application process. See below for a list of college preparatory opportunities for HHCA students.  Workshops are generally open to current Juniors and Seniors until full. If space is available, current sophomores may be invited to attend.

DAILY

Monday-Thursday (9:30 AM-12:00 PM) through December 15, 2023: 

  • College application work time for Seniors (Class of 2024) with Mrs. Robinson. Students may schedule other times here or on a walk-in basis.
  • Senior Seminar for enrolled students.

THROUGHOUT FALL 2023

College Admissions Reps will be visiting the HHCA campus throughout the fall and look forward to meeting with our Upper School students. The schedule for these on-campus visits is updated frequently on the homepage of your SCOIR account.

SEPTEMBER

  • Sept. 25 (7:00 PM) OR Sept. 26 (9:00 AM): Class of 2025 Junior College Planning Night. Please pre-register below.
  • Sept. 27 (8:00 PM) on Zoom: Join Cornell, Emory, Pomona, Rice and Washington Univ. online. Register here. (NOTE: This event is not hosted or sponsored by HHCA)
  • Sept. 29 (12:30-1:30 PM): SRAR Workshop for Seniors

OCTOBER

  • Oct. 6 (12:30-1:30 PM): SRAR Workshop for Seniors
  • Oct. 7: SAT testing day (Not hosted at HHCA)
  • Oct. 10 (8:00 AM-12:00 PM):  Digital PSAT hosted on-campus at HHCA (Grades 8-11)
  • Oct. 12 (9:00 AM-2:00 PM): Sara Cain, TCL Dual Enrollment Representative, will be on campus at HHCA to register students for spring 2024 dual enrollment courses. 
  • Oct. 13 (12:30-1:30 PM): SRAR Workshop for Seniors
  • Oct. 15: IMPORTANT COLLEGE APPLICATION DEADLINE DAY! (USC, Clemson, UGA, and many more)
  • Oct 18. (7:00 PM) in the Cafe: Parents of all HHCA students (K-12) are invited to the College Funding Coach's "Little Known Secrets of Paying for College" workshop with tips for the new FAFSA. Please pre-register below.
  • Oct 18. (5:30-7:30 PM): USCB College Fair (Upper School Students). Students must pre-register. Click here for details. 
  • Oct. 28 & Oct. 29 (12:00-4:00 PM): Get ready for the November 7th SAT with this 2-Day SAT Prep Bootcamp offered on campus by Lowcountry Tutoring & Test Prep. Click here for details.

NOVEMBER

  • Nov. 1: IMPORTANT COLLEGE APPLICATION DEADLINE DAY! 
  • Nov. 4: SAT hosted at HHCA (NOTE: This is the 2nd to last paper test before the SAT goes 100% digital in March 2024).
  • Nov. 6: USC College Bus Trip - Pre-registration will be added below when the date is confirmed. (This trip will be available for up to 45 students in grades 10-12.)
  • Nov. 18 & Nov. 19 (12:00-4:00 PM): Get ready for the December 2nd SAT with this 2-Day SAT Prep Bootcamp offered on campus by Lowcountry Tutoring & Test Prep. Click here for details.
  • November OR December - FAFSA Workshop (pending FAFSA opening date). This will be open to all senior parents--please pre-register to indicate your interest below.

DECEMBER

  • Dec. 2: SAT hosted at HHCA (NOTE: This is the LAST PAPER TEST before the SAT goes 100% digital in March 2024).
