HHCA's extraordinary student readers participated in SCISA's Battle of the Books this week, with strong finishes for both the Lower and Middle School teams.
Students began reading from an assigned list of 20 books last summer, committing details of each story, along with the book title and author's name, to memory. Teams have been meeting weekly since August to prepare for the competition, which tests the ability of students to recall very specific details from every book, as well as the title and author.
Eight HHCA middle school students participated on the Middle School team, led by Mrs. Smith and Mrs. Knight. HHCA competed against 15 SCISA schools and finished 2nd Place in the State competition.
