Applications Open for Bluffton Youth Council

 
The Bluffton Youth Council, a special advisory committee to the mayor, is seeking new members! Bluffton youth in grades 8-11 who want to engage as leaders in their community are invited to apply.
 
The Council gives students first-hand experience in understanding local government, advocating for important issues, and leading peers. Alumni of this council are currently attending prestigious universities and programs all over the country, including Stanford, Cornell, Wake Forest, University of South Carolina, Clemson, College of Charleston, Furman, and The Citadel!
 
BYC was created in 2018 by 11 young people who live, work, and attend school in Bluffton. The mission is simple: to gather monthly to discuss issues of importance that face Bluffton.
 
From a wide range of diverse viewpoints, council members are empowered to voice their concerns and possible solutions to issues here at home. The Council is supported by Mayor Sulka and the Town Council, as well as the town manager and Bluffton police chief.
