HHCA Senior Shelby Dorth Named 2021 RBC Heritage Scholar

The HHCA community extends its congratulations to its newest RBC Heritage Scholar, Shelby Dorth. Shelby is one of 11 outstanding students selected by the Heritage Classic Foundation to receive this prestigious honor.
The Heritage Classic Foundation selects 11 seniors from Beaufort County who represent the most well-rounded scholars in the region based on outstanding academic success, superior community service, and leadership in the community.
Shelby was also the recipient of the Foundation's Tartan Club Award.
The 2021 RBC Heritage Scholars represent six schools in Beaufort County.
Shelby joined HHCA just this year, relocating with her family from Wisconsin to become part of HHCA's Class of 2021. When asked about her move to the Lowcountry as a senior, Shelby said, "It was a difficult decision but this was the best move I could have made. I'm so grateful for HHCA, for the opportunities I've been given, and for the friends I've made here in such a short time."  Her HHCA mentors sing her praises!
The Heritage Classic Foundation's press release says of their Tartan Club Award winner, "She spent her senior year as the “new kid” at Hilton Head Christian Academy after her family relocated from Wisconsin. At her previous school she was captain of the cross country team and “most likely to make you smile after a hard race.” This year she competed on the golf team and is an FCA leader. She sings with her church’s praise team and helps live stream services during COVID-19.
During her senior year at HHCA, Shelby has interned at a local doctor's office, played on HHCA's golf team, and participated in Zonta Club.
Congratulations, Shelby!
