OVERVIEW

__________________________

Dedicated to developing ongoing supportive and collaborative relationships, HHCA's Guidance Team aims to ensure that every family is equipped with the knowledge and encouragement to make prayerful decisions concerning the direction of their student's life.

Our team is committed to empowering students to use their God-given strengths as they engage the world. Guidance support begins in middle school and continues throughout the upper school experience.

Put simply, our Guidance Team helps prepare students for (1) College, (2) Career, and (3) Life. Find overviews for support in each of these three areas below and more detailed explanations within this section.

HHCA Guidance Team's Mission: To equip students with the tools and confidence to know their identity in Christ and use their gifts and skills to change the world for God's glory.

Of note, HHCA's Guidance Team is affiliated with ASCA (American School Counselor Association) to design and implement instruction aligned with Christian values and the ASCA mindsets and behaviors for student success in all settings.  Utilizing the ASCA national model, HHCA continues to pursue assessments and resources that best prepare students for community and postsecondary success.  Furthermore, we are members of PSSCA, the Palmetto State School Counselor Association, for the purpose of collaborating and advancing our counseling model in South Carolina.

Additionally, HHCA’s College and Career Advisor holds membership in NACAC (National Association of College Admission Counselors) and SACAC (Southern Association of College Admission Counselors). These professional communities empower college admission counseling professionals through education, advocacy, and community. The network of professionals fosters collaboration and promotes best practices that continually inform, guide, and improve our college advising and admission processes.
