Local & International Missions

WE EMBRACE THE PRIVILEGE OF BEING A PART OF GOD’S SOVEREIGN PLAN TO CALL PEOPLE UNTO HIMSELF.

MATTHEW 28:19-10

"Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age."

Service

Our desire as a school community is to impact the world - whether that's sending graduates out as world-changing leaders or sending students across the globe to demonstrate the love of Christ through their service.

Locally, we partner with many organizations to share the love of Jesus Christ. These organizations include Deepwell, Backpack Buddies, St. James Baptist Church Soup Kitchen, Operation Christmas Child, PEP, local assisted living communities and more. Students in every grade participate in community service projects throughout the year, with many grades "adopting" a local group or organization and finding ways to serve and contribute on an ongoing basis. For example, HHCA fourth-graders volunteered last year with Backpack Buddies, a local non-profit that addresses the needs of hungry children in the Lowcountry by providing backpacks full of nutritious food for children to have at home over the weekends. HHCA fourth-graders served as a team and packed backpacks together every month during the school year.

Upper School: International Mission Opportunities

Upper School students are given several opportunities to participate in international mission trips during their time at HHCA. Those who take advantage of the Life on Life Leadership Program have the opportunity to work with CCCD (Caribbean Christian Center for the Deaf) in Jamaica and ROWKIDS (Reaching Our World's Kids) in Belize. During their senior year, students have the opportunity to partner with SCORE International in the Dominican Republic.

Historically, students who participate in HHCA's international service opportunities return with a keen awareness of the needs of others - both locally and around the world. They often return with a deeper sense of purpose and a clearer vision of where God is leading them to serve. As mentors, our prayer is that these students grow in their love for His people and cultivate a life of service as a result.

WE ENDEAVOR TO BE CHRIST’S WITNESSES LOCALLY AND AROUND THE WORLD.

"And you (believers) will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth."
