Camp Description:
The third annual HHCA Summer Stock Junior Theater Camp will focus on building a high-caliber performance, which has become the trademark of an HHCA production in recent years. This summer, students will be performing Willy Wonka Jr. for a paying audience on June 12 and 13 at 7:00 PM. Everyone who registers will be in the show. Auditions will be held for larger roles. Students must be registered to audition. Audition requirements will be emailed after registration is complete. (A few of the "adult" roles in the cast may be filled with our teenage staff if needed).
 
Information needed at registration: clothing size, grade/age, school, past theater/dance experience, medical information, student and parent contact information.
 
You do not have to be an HHCA student to participate.

Camp Description:
The Creative Computing course is an introductory course presenting the basics of programming and web page design. With a unique focus on creativity and problem-solving, Creative Computing gives students the opportunity to explore important topics of computing while applying their own ideas and creativity to various projects. Students will create a personal portfolio website showing projects they build during the course. The camp will give students an opportunity to explore their interests in computer science while developing skills that will foster further endeavors in the field.

Camp Description:
Hilton Head Jazz Guitar Institute includes a 3-hour daily jazz guitar clinic with professional jazz guitarist Dr. Tim Fischer, a mid-week music trip to Savannah, and finale performance on June 26.
 
This program is offered as a way for guitarists to grasp - in a non-competitive setting - how to play jazz and improve upon reading, ensemble playing, and improvisation. At least two to three years of playing experience is a pre-requisite for the jazz guitar institute.
 
This program is highly recommended for any guitarist who also plans on attending the Hilton Head Jazz Camp. A discount is provided for those who enroll in both programs.

Camp Description:
The 6th annual Hilton Head Jazz Clinic is a combination of private lessons and small combos, with instruction in theory/improv geared towards beginner students beginning their journey into jazz and improvisation. The clinic includes a 3-hour daily jazz clinic with college jazz camp alumni and local music professionals (June 22-26, 1:00-4:00 PM), an all-day music trip to Savannah (June 24), and finale performance on June 26 at 5:00 PM in the HHCA Performing Arts Center.
 
Only one year of playing experience is required for this clinic.

Camp Description:
Make plans now for your student to attend the 10th annual Hilton Head Jazz Camp, a week-long, full-day camp led by 18 full-time professional faculty & guest artists. With a combination of large big bands, small combos, theory, improv, elective courses, masterclasses and performances, this premier jazz camp is geared towards intermediate to advanced middle and high school students. Special programs are available for jazz strings & vocal jazz in addition to our big bands. The camp includes two major culminating performances at the end of the week: the camp recital and finale concert.
 
Tuition includes a daily chef-catered lunch & all daytime activities, faculty recital, special mid-week lunch masterclass at the Jazz Corner, and 2 complimentary tickets to the finale performance on July 11th at 2:00 PM.
 
A flexible payment plan, and/or scholarships are available. Overnight lodging is available on a limited basis to out-of-town students for an additional cost.

Description:
In this camp, hosted by professional vocalist and drama coach Beth Green, each participant receives individual and semi-private vocal coaching (singing), and technical instruction in preparing for vocal and monologue auditions for musical theater productions. We will cover stage presence and comfort, line memorization, choosing and delivering appropriate and fun monologues and vocal auditions that showcase individual talents, combating stage fright, discovering kinesthetic stance, theatrical space, and many other important facets of producing an excellent audition, and being prepared to knock a Directorโ€™s socks off! Each participant will finish camp with polished and prepared audition skills in his/her personal toolkit! Outdoor play and lots of musical activities, brainy breaks and games are included in our learning week! No auditions are required for enrollment.

Camp Description:
Let's knock that college application essay out of the park! We will take a look at four college essay formats, dissect examples, brainstorm your unique and compelling ideas, draft a few beginnings, and flesh out at least one fabulous CAE. We will also learn how to adapt this essay to different prompts and even how to cut it down to personal statement size. If these dates do not work for you, gather 3-5 of your friends and propose a different date--I'll try to accommodate it!
