HHCA offers a wide variety of camps led by mentors

who love helping students learn new skills while discovering their God-given talents.

Intro to Sign Language

Camp Description:
Our happy campers will learn their ASL (American Sign Language) alphabet, numbers, colors, food & animal signs, household & family signs; conversational ASL; deaf culture; how to sign songs; signed English, and games played in sign only (with no voice). Outdoor play and lots of brainy breaks and games are included in our learning week!
Audition & Vocal Coaching Bootcamp

Description:
In this camp, hosted by professional vocalist and drama coach Beth Green, each participant receives individual and semi-private vocal coaching (singing), and technical instruction in preparing for vocal and monologue auditions for musical theater productions. We will cover stage presence and comfort, line memorization, choosing and delivering appropriate and fun monologues and vocal auditions that showcase individual talents, combating stage fright, discovering kinesthetic stance, theatrical space, and many other important facets of producing an excellent audition, and being prepared to knock a Directorโ€™s socks off! Each participant will finish camp with polished and prepared audition skills in his/her personal toolkit! Outdoor play and lots of musical activities, brainy breaks and games are included in our learning week! No auditions are required for enrollment.

Camp Description:
During this instructional basketball camp, students will work on fundamentals, team concepts, team games, and individual games. They will also receive individual attention addressing their specific needs. This is the perfect camp for beginners and those who want to enhance their skills. 
Mau Sports Camp

Camp Description:
Mau Sports Camp is a fun afternoon camp designed around group games and competitions. Students will enjoy a variety of sports, including basketball, floor hockey, indoor soccer, volleyball, kickball, Wiffle ball, capture the flag and more. No prerequisite skills required to participate.
College Essay and Personal Statement Workshop

Laptop, creativity, and confidence! (If you need to borrow a laptop, we can make arrangements.)
 
Camp Description:
Let's knock that college application essay out of the park! We will take a look at four college essay formats, dissect examples, brainstorm your unique and compelling ideas, draft a few beginnings, and flesh out at least one fabulous CAE. We will also learn how to adapt this essay to different prompts and even how to cut it down to personal statement size. If these dates do not work for you, gather 3-5 of your friends and propose a different date--I'll try to accommodate it!
