Class of 2012
Background:
I was a "lifer" at HHCA attending from K-12th grade. I graduated from Clemson University with a bachelor's degree in Communications and earned my master’s degree in Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment from Walden University. I live in Bluffton, SC and returned to HHCA as a high school mentor. My husband, Chris, and I enjoy evening walks with our daughter Sophie, attending Cornerstone Church of Bluffton, and traveling to Disney World every chance we get.
What was your most memorable experience at HHCA?
One of the most memorable experiences I had at HHCA was the senior class trip to the Dominican Republic. Being able to travel to another country and visit children spreading the word of God and loving on them was a really special experience and one I will never forget.
How did your time at HHCA influence your career path?
I could say that HHCA highly influenced my career path in that it brought me back to work here, but being honest I would say it's the student-mentor relationships that I had during my time as a student. Looking back and remembering the teachers who impacted my life growing up opened a door and shaped me into wanting to be a source and mentor for our students. I love that I can teach students in a class, but also build relationships with them by pouring into them and helping them navigate through their lives.
