Josh Cooke

Class of 1999

Background

I graduated from HHCA in 1999, and I now own Corner Perk Roasters & Eatery; Roasting Room.

What was your most memorable HHCA experience?

Many of the teachers took extra time to help and guide me in giving my graduation speech.

What advice would you give to current students?

Your mentors and community care about you immensely and would do just about anything to help you succeed. Take that and ask a million questions of them and everyone else you can learn from. Gain as much real world knowledge as you can to see what God and the world wants from you and how you can make an impact. It will be rewarding for you and worth their investment in you.

How did your time at HHCA influence your career path or life?

My mom and my wife's mom met for the first time at an HHCA basketball game watching my brother and Kali's sister play basketball. We attended the same college, but didn't know each other. They gave us each other's phone numbers, we met and I gave Kali a ride home from school. I showed her how a gentleman treats a lady and the rest is history. We celebrate 20 years of marriage this year.

What is one word or phrase to describe HHCA's impact on your life?

“Set up for success.”

Gain as much real world knowledge as you can to see what God and the world wants from you and how you can make an impact.
