HHCA Exploring the Relaunch of Intellectually Gifted Program

Lower School Principal Dana Jenkins is exploring the potential relaunch of HHCA's Intellectually Gifted (IG) Program. While planning is still underway, the next step is to begin identifying students who may qualify for participation.

Initial Qualification Criteria

Students who scored at or above the 90th percentile on both their most recent MAP Reading and MAP Math assessments will move into the next phase of the IG identification process. Families of students who meet this benchmark will receive additional details soon, including information about mentor recommendations, proposed cost, class schedule, and syllabus.

Previously Evaluated Students

If your child completed gifted testing with the designated psychologist last year and qualified, please email Dana Jenkins and include the documentation. This will allow us to update records and ensure your child is included in the review for the potential relaunch.

We paused the IG program this fall so we could take a thoughtful look at how to strengthen it for the long term. Our goal has always been to create a program that truly serves our gifted learners well. In the meantime, students continue to be challenged through in-class activities, creative projects, and personalized learning led by our teachers and mentors.
