Kindergarten Explores Savannah Children's Museum

HHCA's youngest Eagles recently spread their wings for an exciting day of off-campus learning at the Savannah Children's Museum. Designed to foster curiosity and creativity, this outdoor, open-air museum provides children with a dynamic, hands-on learning environment. With interactive exhibits, sensory gardens, and engaging workshops, the museum offers an enriching space where young learners can explore and discover through play.

As part of their visit, HHCA's Kindergarten class participated in an educational workshop titled "We Built This City." This engaging experience introduced students to the fundamentals of architecture and engineering while reinforcing essential concepts such as community helpers and 3-D shapes.

Through various interactive activities—including listening to a story, solving riddles, assembling a puzzle, and designing their own community through a hands-on craft—students gained a deeper understanding of how cities are built and the roles that different professionals play in shaping them.

Following the workshop, students enjoyed free time to explore the museum's exhibits, allowing their imaginations to run wild as they engaged with the many interactive elements. From climbing structures and water play areas to creative building zones, the Savannah Children's Museum provided a vibrant setting for both play and learning. After an exciting morning of discovery, students and their mentors gathered to enjoy their packed lunches, reflecting on the fun and knowledge gained throughout the day.

We had a fantastic day! The kids learned about community helpers and communities and then engaged in a fun, hands-on experience of building their own neighborhood.
