HHCA's second grade class created a "Sweet Shop" bake sale on Thursday, January 25, and invited all their Lower School friends to shop! The one-day bake sale was a great success and a fun way to conclude their Money Unit in math.
Second graders brought in baked goods, created signs for the products they were selling, and set their own prices. Each time they sold an item, they counted the coins collected and deposited them in the appropriate containers. Students chose to donate all the money collected at the Sweet Shop to the Humane Society and will deliver their donation later this month.
Sweet Shop organizer Kristal Dobbs said following the event, "We are so proud of the 2nd grade students! They took such pride in selling their baked goods and counting the coins correctly. Then, they were thrilled to learn that we raised $205 for the Humane Society!"
Congratulations, Eagles!
