Devon Yarde Becomes Sixth HHCA Class of 2024 D1 Signee, Twelfth Athlete This Year Set to Further Athletic Career
Devon Yarde Signs to Play Basketball for University of Vermont
On Wednesday, May 22, 2024, HHCA Athletics hosted its sixth college signing this year when Devon Yard officially signed to further her basketball career at Division 1 University of Vermont. The ceremony took place just prior to HHCA's Senior Celebration, a special "night-before-graduation" tradition. Devon was surrounded with family, friends, teammates, classmates, mentors, and coaches for the event. Having made an impact for Eagles basketball for the past six years, she played on State Championship teams every year of her High School career. Just a few of her accomplishments on the court include:
- Over 1000 Career Points
- SCISA 2024 Region Player of the Year
- Three-Time First Team All Region Honoree
- Two-Time All State Honoree
- Four-Time State Champion
- 2024 McDonald's All American Nominee
A tri-season athlete, Devon also competed for the Eagles Cross Country team in the fall, and on the Varsity Girls Soccer team in the spring. She was named to the SCISA all-region first team for soccer the past three years, and was named HHCA's team MVP.
Devon works incredibly hard year-round. Her athleticism can't be missed, and she is such a strong player and teammate. It's been a joy to get to know and work with her, and I can't wait to see her continue to grow.
