Eagles Take the Title at Joe Monmonier Invitational

HHCA’s Boys Varsity Golf team continued an impressive spring season with a championship performance at the Joe Monmonier Invitational, held at the Country Club of Hilton Head and Golden Bear Golf Club.

The Eagles posted a remarkable two-day team total of 588, earning a spot in a playoff against a talented T.L. Hanna High School golf team. In a dramatic finish, HHCA demonstrated composure under pressure, securing the championship victory in the playoff.

This win follows another strong showing for the Eagles, who recently placed second at the Battle of the Dam Invitational in Lexington—further highlighting the team’s consistency and momentum this season.

Leading the way once again was Sage Bradshaw, who captured individual medalist honors at -8. Bradshaw has now finished first individually in every event he has competed in this season, an extraordinary accomplishment that has anchored the team’s success.

Hayes Etheridge delivered an impressive performance, including a -2 opening round, and finished the tournament at +5. JJ Johnson added a steady +6, while Ryan Strebe played a pivotal role in the team’s victory. In the defining moment of the tournament, Strebe sank a clutch birdie putt in the playoff to secure the championship for the Eagles, finishing at +10.

Jack Semeraro also contributed to the team’s effort, rounding out a lineup that continues to compete at a high level.

Beyond the scores, what stands out most about this group is their unity. This team genuinely enjoys competing together, and that chemistry is evident in both their performance and the way they represent HHCA.
