Tamya Hutchinson Signs to play Basketball for Pensacola State College
On Monday, May 13, 2024, HHCA Athletics hosted its fifth college signing ceremony this year when Tayma (Mya) Hutchinson put pen to paper to further her basketball career at the next level. Surrounded by family, friends, teammates, coaches, mentors, and her fellow student body, she made her commitment to play women's basketball for Pensacola State College next year official.
An instrumental part of HHCA's success over the past few years, Mya has been an Eagle for three of the last six consecutive Varsity Girls Basketball titles. Just a few of her accomplishments on the court include:
- 2900 high school career points
- McDonald's All American Nominee
- Three-Time SCISA State Champion
- Three-Time SCISA All State Honoree
- Multiple All-Region Honors
- Team MVP
Mya is the tenth athlete from the Eagles' Class of 2024 that will further their athletic career in college.
I am honored to have had the opportunity to coach this outstanding young lady. Mya is a humble leader and one of the hardest working athletes I know. I'm excited for her future and so glad she will continue pursuing her dream. We should all look forward to following her career.
- HHCA Varsity Girls Head Coach Bobby Thompson
