HHCA is thrilled to celebrate alumni Zach Polk (Class of 2014) on his recent induction into the Xavier University Athletic Hall of Fame. Polk’s outstanding athletic career began at Hilton Head Christian Academy, where he made a lasting impact on Eagle Athletics and later went on to achieve remarkable success at Xavier University.
During his time at HHCA, Polk was a multi-sport athlete, contributing to the Eagles’ football team and playing a key role in the launch of HHCA’s inaugural track and field program. His senior year was especially memorable — Polk captured state titles in all four of his track and field events and earned All-State honors, cementing his legacy in HHCA sports history. In recognition of his achievements, he was inducted into the HHCA Athletics Hall of Fame in September 2023.
Polk continued his record-breaking success at Xavier University, where he graduated in 2018 with an extraordinary list of accolades. He holds the all-time record for most BIG EAST Championship medals and points in Xavier Track and Field history, amassing an incredible 17 BIG EAST medals: 4 gold, 9 silver, and 4 bronze. Throughout his collegiate career, Polk consistently ranked among the top five in every event he competed in — the 100m dash, 200m dash, long jump, and 4x100 relay.
His sophomore and junior years saw him earning All-BIG EAST honors in both indoor and outdoor seasons. In 2016, Polk’s dominant performance at the BIG EAST Championship led to the creation of the “High Point Performer of the Meet” award after he scored a record-breaking 38 points in a single meet. He went on to win the award the following year. At the 2017 Outdoor Championship, Polk showcased his versatility and excellence with a 1st place finish in the 100m, 2nd place in both the 200m and long jump, and a victory in the 4x100 relay.
HHCA couldn’t be prouder of Zach Polk’s extraordinary journey and his well-deserved induction into the Xavier University Athletic Hall of Fame. His dedication, talent, and achievements continue to inspire the entire HHCA community.
