HHCA Senior Liam Healy Signs with Professional USL League One Team
HHCA Senior Liam Healy spent much of his youth on the soccer field, and his investment of time, energy, determination, and grit is paying off.
An academy player for South Georgia Tormenta FC, Healy recently signed with the professional USL League One side after playing for the MLS Next team and USL Academy team and training with the professional USL League One side prior to signing.
The USL Academy and MLS Next teams offer the highest level of play to pre-professional players in the Tormenta FC Academy.
Healy, a forward, has played with Tormenta FC Academy for 10 years and looks forward to continuing to grow as a player and elevating his level of play, beginning with this professional signing. When asked about his history with Tormenta FC, Healy said, “Tormenta has been a huge part of my life and soccer journey. Being part of the USL League One team is a privilege and honor. It means the world to me.”
Healy has traveled extensively in the United States and abroad throughout his soccer career. In July 2024, he trialed with Academica Coimbra in Portugal, and in Spring 2024, he trialed with Atlanta United and Llaneros FC in Columbia. He also completed a residency with Joga International in the Netherlands (2022-2023). In total, Healy has played 16 international matches in Europe, the United Kingdom, and South America.
Being able to witness the growth and development of players is a special and incredible opportunity as a coach. That holds even more true with Liam. Having worked with him over the last three and a half years, he has shown his capabilities and capacity to integrate into our first team environment.

Founded in 2015, Tormenta FC is a professional soccer club based in Statesboro, Georgia. It competes in the professional USL League One and the pre-professional USL W League under the United Soccer League (USL). Tormenta FC has established a successful academy system throughout South Georgia and the South Carolina Lowcountry.
