HHCA Welcomes New Athletic Director Marcus Dilligard

Hilton Head Christian Academy is thrilled to welcome Marcus Dilligard as HHCA's new Athletic Director and Varsity Boys Basketball Head Coach.

With a heart for Christian education, a passion for developing student-athletes, and more than 16 years of leadership experience in athletics, Dilligard brings both energy and vision to the HHCA community. Known for his Christ-centered leadership style and commitment to building strong relationships with students, families, coaches, and the broader school community, he joins HHCA with a deep desire to cultivate excellence in athletics while helping students grow in character and faith.

Dilligard most recently served as Athletic Director and Head Men’s Basketball Coach at Grace Christian Academy in Knoxville, Tennessee, where he led a thriving athletic department that included 17 programs, more than 60 teams, and 85 staff members.

In addition to serving as HHCA's Athletic Director, Dilligard is excited to lead HHCA’s Varsity Boys Basketball program as Head Coach. Basketball has played a significant role throughout both his personal and professional life. Marcus played collegiate basketball at Furman University, where he was a four-year member of the Paladins program before continuing his playing career professionally in South America.

A Christ-centered leader with a passion for developing student-athletes both on and off the field, Dilligard is known for fostering a culture of excellence, servant leadership, teamwork, and spiritual growth. Throughout his career, he has emphasized character formation alongside athletic achievement, helping students grow academically, socially, spiritually, and competitively.

Marcus brings a tremendous combination of leadership experience, vision, and genuine care for students. His commitment to Christ-centered education and his passion for building strong athletic programs make him an outstanding fit for the HHCA community.

At Grace Christian Academy, Dilligard provided strategic leadership for the entire athletic department, overseeing budgeting, staffing, facilities, scheduling, fundraising, and long-term program development. Under his leadership, the school maintained a 90% student-athlete participation rate while strengthening program culture and competitiveness across all sports.

Prior to his time at Grace Christian Academy, Dilligard served as Director of Athletics and Head Men’s Basketball Coach at Victory Christian Center School in Charlotte, North Carolina. He also coached at the collegiate level as Assistant Men’s Basketball Coach at the University of the Cumberlands in Kentucky.

Dilligard holds a Bachelor of Science in Political Science from Furman University and a Master of Science in Coaching from the University of the Cumberlands. He is also a Certified Athletic Administrator.

Dilligard and his family are excited to join the HHCA community. He and his wife, Kristin, have two children: Aziah (10th grade) and Jeremyah (6th grade).
