Mr. Harrington Speaks at Wisdom Wednesday

As a school community, we believe there’s power in sharing how God is moving in our lives and how He has moved on our behalf in the past. HHCA’s Agape Latte Club created Wisdom Wednesday with this in mind.

Agape Latte, under the leadership of Guidance Director Megan Robbins, hosts Wisdom Wednesday once a month for Upper School students and mentors. This is a time for the Upper School community to share their stories, learn from one another, and encourage each other.

Agape Latte club members invite faculty and students to share their testimonies with the group. On September 25, HHCA mentor Dan Harrington shared his story with students and faculty.

This is a portion of Mr. Harrington’s testimony, in his own words:

Today, I am happily married to a wonderful woman I love with all my heart, and we have a son who has brought us so much joy in life. None of this would have been possible without God picking me up out of the gutter and putting me back on my feet. I can tell you that God is always there, even when you are miles away.

Jesus Christ is my Lord and my Savior, and I hope that the person who needs to hear this message hears these words. Most likely, someone in this room has absolutely no idea that one day they will be standing on the head of a pin with the opportunity to choose one direction or another. And they will choose the wrong direction and end up miles away from anywhere they ever dreamed they could end up. It could turn out to be their worst nightmare. I stand here today as living proof that even though you may be miles away from God, He is always right next to you, just waiting for you to choose Him.

- Mr. Dan Harrington, HHCA Upper School Science Mentor

We are grateful for the encouragement that comes with hearing how God has moved in the lives of others and we extend a big thank you to Mr. Harrington for sharing with our Upper School students and faculty.

Wisdom Wednesday is held on the 4th Wednesday of every month during the Upper School Activity Period and meets in the Upper School Commons.
