On August 8, HHCA faculty and staff gathered for a special dedication ceremony to name the Lower School Library.
In recognition of the generosity of 2nd Grade/Lead Mentor Brooke Brown and her family, we had the honor to name the library space after her late mother, Diane Stephen Brown.
Doug Langhals, Head of School, kicked off the dedication and welcomed Brooke and her children, Hadley '22 and Will '25. He reflected on the effort behind raising money for the new building, and the privilege to name spaces on campus in recognition of the generosity of others.
Director of Development, Haley Labrot, shared more about Diane Stephen Brown and her passion for education and enriching the lives of students:
Following in the footsteps of her parents, it was no surprise that Diane grew up with an equal, if not bigger, passion for education. She spent countless hours raising money for both private and public schools alike. Her enthusiasm for bettering the lives of children through education was evident.
To conclude the program, Hadley and Will unveiled the signage that will forever commemorate their grandmother and the legacy she left not just in their lives, but the lives of countless students she touched.
