HHCA Announces New Middle School Principal

HHCA is excited to welcome new Middle School Principal Jay Scarbro to the HHCA community and the Lowcountry.

HHCA's Administrative team is pleased to announce that Jay Scarbro will be joining HHCA as Middle School Principal this summer. For the past four years, Jay has served as Head of School at First Baptist Academy (FBA) in Knoxville, Tennessee.

Jay's experience in both private and public education is broad and diverse. Before his tenure as Head of School at First Baptist Academy, Jay served as FBA's Director of Development and Athletics. He also served as a Guidance Counselor for Knox County schools from 2010-2017.

In addition to an Associate of Science degree, Jay holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Tennessee Wesleyan University and a Master of Education degree from Lincoln Memorial University. He also received a Licensure in School Counseling from Lincoln Memorial University. He is a state-certified school counselor (Tennessee) and an ACSI-Certified Athletic Director, Principal, and Head of School.

Jay and his wife, Lauren, have been married for 15 years and have three children: Henley (6th grade), Reese (4th grade), and Graysen (1st grade). They love baseball and can't wait to get involved in Eagle Baseball!

Each step of my journey has impacted my approach to education. I have found that personal relationships with parents, students, and staff are essential for success and that students can reach high standards when provided with the proper support.
