HHCA Hosts Annual Salute to Service Night

On Friday evening, September 12, 2025, Hilton Head Christian Academy proudly honored the brave men and women of the United States Military and the first responders who faithfully serve our communities during its annual Salute to Service Night.

Throughout the Varsity Eagles’ home football game, HHCA recognized military families within the school community, while the stands filled with red, white, and blue in tribute to America’s heroes.

The evening began with a special Eagle Walk, led by the United States Marine Corps Color Guard, HHCA flag runners, the Pep Band, Varsity Cheerleaders, and the Varsity Eagles. The Marine Corps Color Guard also presented the nation’s colors before kickoff, and Lance Corporal Salumu, vocalist with the Parris Island Marine Band, delivered a stirring performance of the National Anthem.

Joining HHCA’s Eagle captains for the pre-game coin toss were two honorary team captains—longtime HHCA mentors with active duty family members. Mrs. Melanie Hilton, whose children Cody and Grace (HHCA alumni) currently serve in the United States Army, and Mr. John Abbott, whose daughter Kelsey serves in the United States Air Force, were recognized for their families’ commitment and sacrifice.

Adding to the patriotic atmosphere, the HHCA Pep Band performed the Armed Forces Medley during the game, honoring all who have served in uniform.

It was a great evening for the HHCA community, and a privilege for HHCA to welcome active-duty military members, veterans, and first responders as our honored guests. We are deeply grateful for their courage, sacrifice, and devotion to protecting our freedoms and serving our communities.
