During the 23-24 school year, HHCA's competitive robotics teams participated in several competitions across the state.
Lower School and Middle School students, competing in VEX IQ Robotics, wrapped up their regular season on February 3 with a local tournament. Two teams are advancing to the State Championship in Greenville on February 17. Competing at the State tournament is HHCA's first all-girls team (Abbs Cooke, Copeland Hubbard, and Claire McKay) and the 4th/5th grade boys team (Robert Fortston, Samuel Fortston, Mehaan Jana, and Tre Romine).
HHCA fielded 3 high school VEX Robotics teams this year, who competed in the VRC division. In the first competition of the season, HHCA's Junior/Senior team earned the Judges Award, which is awarded to the team who displays exemplary effort, effective communication skills, teamwork, professionalism, and a student-centered ethos. Over the weekend, several members of the high school team traveled to Lexington, South Carolina, to compete in the last event of the regular season. All 3 teams advanced to the quarter finals, with members of the Junior/Senior team (Chris Nguyen and Caleb Winget) making it to the semifinals.
Congratulations to all our Eagle engineers on a great season and good luck to our teams who will compete at the State Championship on 2/17!
