HHCA Theater Presents Bright Star
A Bluegrass Musical Inspired by a True Story
Hilton Head Christian Academy's award winning theater department is excited to present Bright Star, a moving and musically rich production inspired by a true story and featuring music, book, and story by Steve Martin and Edie Brickell.
Set in the American South during the 1920s and 1940s, Bright Star tells a powerful story of love, loss, forgiveness, and redemption, brought to life through a bluegrass-inspired score. When literary editor Alice Murphy meets a young soldier returning from World War II, their encounter sets off a journey into the past that reveals long-buried truths and the enduring power of grace and hope.

Bright Star is a beautiful example of why we do theatre in a Christian school. The story invites students to wrestle with complex emotions and moral choices while pointing toward hope, forgiveness, and redemption. It stretches them artistically while grounding them in truth.
