Hilton Head Christian Academy's award-winning theater department is proud to present Over the River and Through the Woods by Joe DiPietro—a beloved, laugh-out-loud story about a young professional torn between big career dreams and the traditions of his Italian-American grandparents.  It’s a feel-good night of family, food, and the kind of love that never lets go.

Enjoy the Saturday evening show while your Lower School students enjoy games, pizza, and fun on campus! HHCA Seniors, along with Spiritual Life mentor Shira Thompson, will host Lower School Parents Night Out on Saturday, November 1, 2025, to support the Class of 2026 Senior Mission Trip to the Dominican Republic.

MEET THE CAST


 

Luke Strebe (Nick)

Luke’s recent roles include Jay in Lost in Yonkers, Shrek in Shrek Jr., Amos Calloway in Big Fish, and Willy Wonka in Willy Wonka Jr. A member of HHCA’s worship team and an ISCA Rising Stars participant, he brings maturity, timing, and warmth to the central role of Nick. 

Jetts Nelson (Aida)

With 14 productions to date, Jetts has led roles such as Brooke Wyndham in Legally Blonde Jr., the Baker’s Wife in Into the Woods Jr., Sandra Bloom in Big Fish, and Mrs. Gloop in Willy Wonka Jr. She was named SCISA One Act Best Actress (2024–25) and a ISCA Rising Stars performer.

Eli Taylor (Nunzio)

In his 27th production, Eli has performed with HHCA, Seaglass Stage Company, Main Stage Community Theater, and SSTI. Favorite roles include Lord Evelyn in Anything Goes, Gabe in Next to Normal, and Will Bloom in Big Fish. He placed 3rd in ISCA’s Rising Stars.

Amelia Lockhart (Emma)

Amelia returns for her sixth HHCA production, most recently appearing as the Fisherman in Big Fish. She’s equally strong behind the scenes on tech crew, giving her a full understanding of stagecraft. As Emma, she pairs grounded acting with a collaborative spirit that elevates the ensemble.

Noah Berry (Frank)

A versatile young artist, Noah’s recent credits include Zacky Price in Big Fish, Jacey Squires in The Music Man, and Michael Hobbs in Elf Jr. When he’s not on stage, he’s a drummer and sports fan—bringing sharp timing, energy, and comic instincts to the role of Frank.

Addi Rogers (Caitlin)

Addi marks her seventh HHCA production with roles in The Music Man (ensemble), Once Upon a Mattress (Princess #12), and Big Fish (Dr. Bennett), plus crew for Willy Wonka Jr. A year-round H2A swimmer and two-time All-State honoree, she brings focus, spark, and heart to Caitlin.

ABOUT THE DIRECTOR

Michelle McElroy-Cox, HHCA Assistant Director of Fine Arts, has spent 15+ years directing and producing exceptional theatre on our campus and across the Lowcountry. Her portfolio spans large-scale, crowd-pleasing musicals—The Music Man, The Wizard of Oz, The Sound of Music, The Little Mermaid—as well as intimate plays that showcase nuanced storytelling. Under her leadership, HHCA productions have earned top honors in SCISA One Act competitions and recognition from Broadway World South Carolina, reflecting her reputation for professional-level artistry, disciplined rehearsal rooms, and performances that delight audiences of every age.
