Magical Night on the May is our signature fall event. It brings the HHCA community together for an unforgettable night-- friendships are forged, fun is had, and community is built.  Set on the bluff of the May River at sunset, guests enjoy a Lowcountry oyster roast, locally inspired menu, live entertainment, and a fabulous silent auction.

HHCA’s Annual Fund is the foundation of everything we do each day. It supports our operating budget and directly impacts every part of campus life: spiritual life, academics, athletics, fine arts, faculty, staff, and student experiences.

Tuition alone does not cover the full cost of an HHCA education. The Annual Fund bridges that gap, allowing us to move beyond what’s basic and deliver something truly exceptional. It’s what makes retreats possible, strengthens our programs, supports our teachers, and enhances the daily experience of every student.

This is a community-wide annual effort, bringing together parents, grandparents, alumni, faculty, and friends in a shared commitment to HHCA’s mission. It does not fund buildings or major construction projects, rather its impact is immediate, meaningful, and felt every single day on campus.

Annual Fund gifts are directed to HHCA’s areas of greatest need, which can shift from year to year as we respond to what will best serve our students and faculty.

In recent years, investments have included areas like campus security, technology, college planning and new curriculum. The fund also supports meaningful experiences like student retreats which are cornerstone moments of spiritual growth that are essential to who we are.

While these may not always be the most visible additions to campus, they are the experiences and resources woven into the fabric of everyday life at HHCA.

Every student at HHCA benefits directly from the Annual Fund.

It supports the programs, people, and opportunities that shape your child’s daily experience. It also helps close the gap between tuition and the true cost of delivering a high-quality, Christ-centered education.

In short, your gift helps ensure that your child, and every student, receives the full depth and richness of the HHCA experience.

Participation is one of the strongest indicators of a healthy and committed school community.

When HHCA families give, it demonstrates that those closest to the mission believe in and support it. This is incredibly important, not only for sustaining our programs, but also when seeking support from foundations and other external partners who look closely at community participation.

Every gift matters, regardless of size. There is no “right” amount, only a shared goal of participation from every family. Whether large or small, every donation is a reflection of your belief in HHCA and your investment in our mission.

 The Annual Fund supports the present by meeting the immediate, day-to-day needs of our school and enhancing the current student experience.  Capital campaigns, on the other hand, are focused on the future. They fund major projects like new buildings, campus expansions, or long-term improvements.  

Both are essential, but they serve different purposes. The Annual Fund ensures excellence today, while capital giving helps build what’s next.
