Every Friday, HHCA students, faculty and staff, parents, and guests, spend dedicated time together in weekly Chapel. Each service includes a special student-led worship, moving messages from members of our Spiritual Life team or guest speakers, and fun/engaging games.

Lower School

Parents are invited to join Lower School Chapel (when pre-registered here to attend). Throughout the year, Lower School students work with their Bible Mentor to prepare and lead a Chapel service.

MS/US School

Middle and Upper School students experience moving weekly Chapel services with their peers--each with fun and engaging games, student-led worship, and thought-provoking messages. 

Early in the school year, Middle and Upper School students are taken off-campus for what is a corners.one of the HHCA experience: retreat. 

Middle School Retreat

Middle School Retreat is a long-standing HHCA tradition and often a highlight of the school year. Students are encouraged to make the most of this important time, participate in as much as possible, have a good spirit, and allow the Lord to work in their life. UPPER School Retreat

US Retreat is one of the most talked about events of the year, and a highlight of the HHCA experience for many.  It's a special time at the beginning of the school year for students to step away from daily school life, build positive relationships with one another, and be challenged in their walk with the Lord. Spirit Week celebrates the HHCA experience during one of our students' favorite weeks of the year. Central to this special time is the energy and enthusiasm on display throughout campus. 

There is something for all grades (K-12) during the week including:

• Dress-up themes with daily costume parades
• Daily assemblies with games, student-led worship, and more
• Dedicated time in the afternoon for Middle School and Upper School games including everything from flag football, to kickball, to chess tournaments, and art competitions
• A final Spirit Week assembly featuring class dances (check out last year's dances below!)

Serving others is an important part of the HHCA mission and helps advance our vision To Know Christ and Make Him Known. When we help those in need and contribute to our community, it not only provides valuable experience and multiplied blessings, it also fulfills what we are called by scripture to do.  As a school community built on the teaching of Jesus, it is imperative that we follow his model of reaching out to those around us to demonstrate his love by serving others. HHCA requires that all Middle and Upper School students complete a minimum number of community service hours to move on to their next academic year. 

HHCA strives to help students see that they can have an impact on their community, country, and the entire world for the glory of God.

Now a nearly 30-year HHCA tradition, the Senior Dominican Trip is an incredible combination of missions work and a special time for graduating seniors to spend together in the final days of their HHCA experience.  SCORE International Missions, our partner for the trip, has proven to be organization that places us in safe places to serve and play. Students serve in the sugar cane villages in the northern part of the Dominican Republic around the city of Juan Dolio, and with young children in schools and orphanages in the surrounding towns. In addition to important missions work, students enjoy exploring tourist attractions like shopping in the old market of Santo Domingo and playing on the beautiful beaches.  

Having led this trip for years, I have been inspired watching God work in and through our students, and always love being with them as they reflect on their time at HHCA and look to the future.
