SUMMER READING 2025
HHCA mentors have planned an exciting summer season for all K-12 students, providing many resources and opportunities to help them keep their skills sharp. Required reading and projects for students in 2nd-12th grade are outlined below, along with optional challenges and additional resources.

LOWER SCHOOL
MIDDLE SCHOOL
Middle School mentors have carefully chosen their Summer Reading material and created a Summer Reading assignment list from which students may choose their preferred assignment. This will help each mentor know a bit more about the interests and passions of each student.
Instructions:
Find your grade level below and follow the directions for your Summer Reading assignment. Please thoroughly explore each linked assignment before you choose the one you want to complete with your assigned book.
If you have questions, concerns, or ideas, be sure to reach out to your English mentor EARLY to discuss!
Due Date:
Summer Reading assignments are due on the first day of the 2025-2026 school year, Thursday, 8/7/2025. You will turn in your assignment to your English mentor on Thursday, August 7th.
UPPER SCHOOL
Instructions:
Please complete ALL summer reading assignments per your course requests on your course placement form. If you have any questions in regard to your course requests, please reach out to your grade level counselor, Mrs. Robbins (Grades 9 & 10) or Mrs. Artime (Grades 11 & 12).
Thoroughly explore each linked assignment before choosing the one you want to complete with your assigned book.
Summer Reading assignments for Advanced Placement (AP) courses are listed separately at the bottom of this page. If you are taking AP courses, be sure to complete your required AP summer assignments.
